Smart Cobotics at the University of Warwick Video

At the University of Warwick, WMG, we have a strong focus on the rapid design, validation and deployment of flexible, smart human-robot collaboration systems.

One of our niche areas of research is laser welding (for example in EV production) where the challenge is to keep up with the high speed and high quality requirements of this fast-growing manufacturing process.

In conjunction with this, we are also working on flying inspection cobots – drones with 3D scanners to allow rapid in-line analysis of defects and fast implementation of corrective action, working towards the ultimate goal of achieving zero defects and zero waste in production.
