Smart Cobotics at Loughborough University Video

At Loughborough University, our work as part of the Smart Cobotics centre focusses on 3 key elements – collaboration, recognition and acceptance.

In considering collaboration, our aim is to enable robots to interact with people (and share control) within the same space.

Recognition, achieved through the digitisation of human movement, plays an important part in any collaborative activity as it is essential that we can recognise what is happening around the cobot at any point in time.

Finally, without acceptance, the integration of collaborative robots within the workplace could be significantly hindered and we are therefore developing an ethical framework to explore and understand acceptable human-robot interaction.
