Dr. Amr M. El-Sayed Ahmed is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Robotics & Autonomous Systems Research (RAS) Group, Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management (DMEM), University of Strathclyde, UK, specializing in Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC) and Mechatronics design. His research interests include HRC, Bio-Mechatronics, Rehabilitation, and Smart Manufacturing. He designs intelligent systems and optimizes manufacturing processes through Digital Twins (DT). He designs robotic grippers to enhance the graspability of objects in different tasks and scenarios.
Dr. Amr M. El-Sayed Ahmed is also an Assistant Professor in Mechatronics and Robotics at the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University, Egypt. He holds a PhD in Bio-Mechatronics (Biomedical) Engineering from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, and a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering from Assiut University. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University College Dublin, Ireland, and received fellowships from the Science Foundation Ireland and Marie Curie Fellowship to work on assistive devices for people with disabilities and at the Biorobotic Institute, Italy, respectively.
